Terms of Service

These terms govern your access to and use of CONCISE — the account you create, how you may use the stories and features we organize, and what we're each responsible for. They work alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data specifically.

Last updated: August 15, 2026
Note: CONCISE is based in India and intends to incorporate here, so these Terms are written on the assumption that Indian law, and Indian courts or arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, govern the agreement — see Section 14. Because CONCISE serves users worldwide, mandatory consumer-protection or data-related provisions in a user's home country may still apply regardless of this governing-law clause, particularly for users in the EU/UK, California, and other jurisdictions with strong consumer protections.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using CONCISE — the website, and any related apps or features we offer (together, the "Service") — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you don't agree to these Terms, don't use the Service.

If you're using CONCISE on behalf of an organization, you're agreeing to these Terms for that organization, and confirming you have the authority to do so.

2. Description of the Service

CONCISE organizes publicly available news reporting from third-party publishers. We cluster related headlines into a single story, compare how different outlets frame the same event, surface political-perspective and information-versus-noise context, and — where you've signed in — personalize what you see based on your reading activity.

CONCISE does not write, edit, or publish original news content, and does not employ journalists to report the stories shown on the Service. Every card links back to the original publisher, and full articles are read on the publisher's own site.

3. Eligibility & Accounts

3.1 Age requirement

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, if higher) to use CONCISE. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement.

3.2 Creating an account

Core browsing of The Latest doesn't require an account. Personalization features — such as a "For You" feed and saved preferences — require signing in with Google. You're responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Google account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your CONCISE account.

3.3 Accurate information

You agree to provide accurate account information and to notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to, and not to help or permit anyone else to:

  • Scrape, crawl, or bulk-extract content, clustering data, or rankings from CONCISE using automated means, except as permitted by our robots.txt or a written agreement with us
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code or underlying methods of our clustering, ranking, or personalization systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service, including through malware, denial-of-service attacks, or unauthorized access attempts
  • Misrepresent your identity, impersonate any person or entity, or create accounts through automated or fraudulent means
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that infringes the rights of publishers, other users, or third parties
  • Remove, obscure, or alter attribution to original publishers, or present aggregated content in a way that implies CONCISE authored it

We may suspend or terminate access for violations of this section — see Section 12.

5. Third-Party Content & Publisher Rights

Headlines, summaries, images, and article content displayed on CONCISE remain the property of their respective publishers. We display limited excerpts — headlines, short summaries, and thumbnail images — together with clear source attribution and a direct link to the full article on the publisher's own site.

We do not claim ownership over third-party content, and nothing in these Terms transfers any publisher's rights to you or to us. Your use of any linked publisher site is governed by that publisher's own terms and privacy policy, not ours.

CONCISE does not independently verify the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of third-party reporting, and does not endorse the views expressed in any article we index or summarize. See Section 9.

6. CONCISE's Intellectual Property

The CONCISE name, logo, visual design, user interface, and the underlying software, clustering methodology, and ranking systems are owned by CONCISE (or our licensors) and protected by intellectual property law. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service or our underlying software, or attempt to extract the source code, except where applicable law expressly permits it despite this restriction.

7. Personalization & "For You"

When you're signed in, CONCISE uses your reading activity and stated preferences to personalize your feed. This is optional — you can browse the non-personalized Latest feed without an account, and can turn personalization off at any time from Settings. How this data is collected and used is described in detail in our Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service, including all third-party content organized within it, is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any story clustering, perspective comparison, political indicator, or information-versus-noise signal is accurate, complete, or current. These signals are computed automatically and are provided as contextual aids, not as fact-checked determinations.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CONCISE and its officers, employees, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or goodwill, arising from your use of — or inability to use — the Service, including reliance on any third-party content organized or summarized within it.

Where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of ₹5,000 (Indian Rupees) — or the equivalent in your local currency — or the amount, if any, you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold CONCISE harmless from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of any third party's rights.

12. Termination

You may stop using CONCISE and delete your account at any time from Settings, or by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, with or without notice, if we believe in good faith that you've violated these Terms, created risk or legal exposure for us, or if we discontinue the Service or a feature of it.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including Section 6, Section 9, Section 10, and Section 14 — will continue to apply.

13. Changes to the Service & These Terms

We may modify or discontinue features of the Service at any time. We may also update these Terms as CONCISE evolves; if we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where required by law, provide additional notice — such as an in-product banner or email — before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will first be handled through good-faith negotiation between you and CONCISE. If it isn't resolved that way within a reasonable time, the dispute will be referred to and finally resolved by arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, before a sole arbitrator appointed by mutual agreement of the parties. The seat and venue of arbitration will be New Delhi, India, and proceedings will be conducted in English. The arbitral award will be final and binding on both parties.

Subject to the arbitration agreement above, the courts at New Delhi, India will have exclusive jurisdiction over any matter not subject to arbitration — for example, an application for urgent interim relief.

If you're a consumer resident in the EU, UK, California, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer-protection or dispute-resolution rules that can't be displaced by agreement, nothing in this section limits any non-waivable rights or local dispute-resolution mechanisms available to you under your own law.

15. General Terms

  • Entire agreement — these Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and CONCISE regarding the Service.
  • Severability — if any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
  • No waiver — our failure to enforce any provision isn't a waiver of our right to do so later.
  • Assignment — you may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
  • Force majeure — we're not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.

16. Relationship to Our Privacy Policy

Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through your use of the Service — including Google Sign-In data, cookies, and the usage data behind personalization — and your rights over it under applicable law (including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and India's DPDP Act, 2023). It's incorporated into these Terms by reference; where these Terms address use of the Service generally and the Privacy Policy addresses your data specifically, both apply together.
